I am very new to ajax and was wondering where I would get started on a simple AJAX spelling game. I have a database with a misspelled word and the correct version. I was planning on showing the misspelled word and the user has to spell it right. When submitted it would check it against the db and let the user know how they did.

There is nearly 1,000 Ajax scripts you can download and see how they work. If you take a look at some ajax forms that do a submit/check on the values entered, these have almost the same functionality you want to achieve so it's just a matter of seeing how it works and replicating it to suit your needs.

I found this was the easiest way to learn, just by pulling apart functioning code similar to what i was trying to achieve and seeing how they done it.
