I have found that it is best to run several blogs and link to each one from the other. If each blog has a link in the footer or so then a link will be created for each page/post your publish.

Another thing about commenting, make sure you leave relevant comment or else u might considered spamming. Some blogs set nofollow to their comment, but if you post ur link, search engine might still crawl on it.
