Here's what happens. The 1st time a search engine finds your content, they archive your
information and keep going. Now that they have it archived, they come back time and time
again to see if they can still provide viewers with that information.
If by chance you changed it in any way, search engines will ultimately have to re-archive
the information again and start all over. This in turn is like "loosing interest" in your
information at that time.

The best way is with Yahoo, you can do this with a site such as www.checkpagerank.net

This shows other info as well, such as Pagerank, Domain Age, Yahoo Directory, DMOZ Directory etc.

Or you can install something like SEOQuake for Firefox and it will show you directly in the search engine like this:



See underneath, Google has over 1/2 a billion backlinks.

Try Seo Open Tool.. It shows you the backlinks coming from google, yahoo and Msn..

I used many Ibl checker. But the best link checker i have used is the backlinkchecker.com

if you are having Google tool bar on you desktop so beside page rank button there is small drop down arrow click on it you will find third option backword link clicking on it you can check back link of you site.

To find backlinks in each SE, try this syntax:

link:www.domain.com

You can try your to search also your indexed page for each SE. Try:

site:www.domain.com
