Default Changing the design of my site ? - Will it effect my SEO - Admin

Hello, recentlly i both a website and i am planning to change the design.

The current design is somethin just 2-3 table ( done in Dreamweaver ) and full of content. The site is very high in serps and is not converting good because of the design of the site.

So my question is if i design a better looking site but keep the old content and everything else ( just changing the design ) will this effect my google serps ?

Can someone with more expirence in SEO answer my question.

There is no hard and fast yes/no answers, it depends. Every time i have changed a design there's been no negative effects to SERP's, for instance i changed the design of Taree Internet just a few weeks back and the SERP's didn't move.. actually many improved.

I switched Content Management Systems, and the difference in coding was quite substantial and everything went perfectly fine. But on the other hand i've heard of many people who have changed designs and the SERP's dropped even though the content was the same.

You just need to pay attention to things like headline tags <h1>, content layout, menu locations and even little things like Alt tags to make sure it's either similar to or better than the old design.

I use the Web Developer addon for Firefox, you can zap all stylesheets on both designs and see the differences in a more spider like fashion.

I guess if your really concerned, you could apply the new design to a subpage or small section of your site and monitor things before making the official switch. Or if you have an unimportant domain that ranks for a few keywords, you could test run it on it.

Hope that helps.

In my experience, I change the design of my site but I stick with my old content. because my site ranks well in serp too, the result is more sales to my site..

Nothing will happen, if you changes your content and keywords then it will become a problem. But in your case no need to worry as far as your content is unique. Thank you
