I have a friend that has a new site and I think there's something weird about it... When Google updated just recently his site's deeplink became PR2 from unranked but it's index page is still unranked. what do you guyz think of it?

Actually i am also facing same problem in one of my site.
it had not PR in inner pages and after this update December 2008, some of inner pages have 0, 1 and 2 pr. but interesting is my domain pr was 2 and now it is 1.

i can't get google, that what he is updating.

Yeah, it's not a rule. Sometimes it may happen, No one knows how Google will index the websites position. As your site's homepage may index but internal page may not, i came across these type of situations so many times. Thanks for sharing..
