In the HTML H1 is a big font size whereas H6 is very small size..So i think that's the reason why they won't go for H6..Thanks for writing..

Hi steve.callen Actually While designing the Website We commonly uses H1 tags for important data since they will have Very big size.. as the preferences for the content decreases we will be Using H2, 3, till 6. So search engine mainly concentrate on the important data then the other.. Thats the reason search Engine generally figures h1, h2 & h3 tags |

Heading tags were designed to display a heading at the appropriate size in relation to its importance, eg site name heading <h1> <h2> sub-topic heading etc etc. Not necessarily for SEO. It is essentially that search engines note only the first 3 headings to tell it what your site is about. As a general rule of thumb, you need to use 1 <h1> tag only, and any amount of <h2> tags required. You can control the font size and style by using the <h1 class="" tag . So, in the search engine bots eyes, the first few headings on your page are telling the search engine what your site is about. |
