As I am also in the field of SEO, according to me Off page SEO is all about the things you could to get a high page rank (PR) for your website after it has already gone live. These are the things which you actually execute outside the pages of your website, hence the name of this type of SEO.

I don't think that is really the main reason why SEO is created in the first place. PR is just like a link popularity checker (or something like that), SEOs optimize a website or a blog to make it appear in SERPs or Search Engine Results Page, it means you optimize so your website can appear in the first page of the search engine for a certain keyword.

Very true.... but now SEO is not just sitting and linking to other directories or websites.. Its being expanded it to social networks and stuff like these.. what you think?

For businesses, it's best used to keep in touch with your customers by informing them of new offers/deals, providing customer support, and generally being a good member of the community.

It's NOT to be used to market your company to those who have not already bought from you.

very true... still i have seen many businesses promoting there ideas, features on twitter... have anyone used it?

I think they still seat, standing is quite uncomfortable when surfing the web.
Yes SEO evolved in some aspects (just a thought) and you can even use social networking to use it.

Like Dan said, you can communicate with the people your doing business with. You can also get traffic to your webpage from twitter.

Twitter is a micro-blogging website. Some SEO use it as a tool for building links and spamming others inbox. But that's wrong.

Jolie, those companies that do tend to promote their own products/services are doing so to their existing customer base who has chosen to follow them on Twitter.

I have seen many companies or businesses spamming in twitter. What if people of the same business connect together through twitter?

Secondly I have been a part of Bayut.com which is property portal. People avoid it on twitter as businesses are not attractive to youngsters. What you have to say about it. How business can be promoted other than twitter?
