Social bookmarking does help get targetted traffic. But i would suggest you do things manually

Automation helps you submit to a bunch of bookmarking sites, but you need to build relationships and reputation to get noticed

So pick a small number of high traffic bookmarking sites e.g. digg and spend time building relationships with other people there.

Your submissions get more votes that way and this increases theirr exposure
