Default Google Wonder Wheel

Recently the SEO Sphere began talking about the Google Wonder Wheel as a new tool to help find related keyword ideas. Everywhere i go people are falling over backwards about this thing like it's one of the best things invented. Here's 2 i come across in the last 10 minutes:

Quote:
This is the Google Wonder Wheel - another freakin’ incredible tool that Google has released recently that shows the semantic relationships between keywords
Howie Schwartz even went to the trouble of writing an Ebook about it.

If by some odd chance you have not seen this Wonder Wheel it looks like this:

Now.. This is the part that gets me about this "freakin incredible tool that Google has released recently" is... We have had that data for years right in the SERP's under #10, nothing new what so ever...

Exactly the same, you don't need to go out of your way to some wheel subpage or do anything different than your normal queries it's already there. Any SEO worth their salt should of been using this data for years, rather than be over the moon they can now find "new" related keywords.

It's either very strange or i'm totally missing something here and this Google Wonder Wheel has a secret button i haven't found that provides some new astonishing data?

Maybe i should do a write up about things like advanced ~tilde operators, and provide some scripts to slice and dice keyword data to show some "really" useful stuff.

Yeah, i find it quite disturbing many so called "gurus" are jumping up and down with excitement about this Google Wonder Wheel (Blunder Wheel?) saying things like "We now have access to what Google deems thematically related".

Ahh Houston, we have had the data for years it's old news.

The Google-aid is definitely flowing at the plex. There's a few other functions over on the Wonder Wheel page like timeline based search, filetype search etc people are raving about, but same again had it for years right next to the normal search box:

All the "gurus" must still be using Internet Explorer and never heard of Firefox, Greasemonkey or Userscripts.org

Or Opera for that matter. Guess which one these so-called "gurus" are.

lol funny pic, believe it or not Opera is my favorite browser by far. I've always used Opera Mini aka OM on my mobile, Opera on my PDA and have v9.x and 10.x both installed on my desktop. I've been registered over on Opera.com since 06'ish and drop in from time to time to keep up to date.

I just rely on those big guns hanging off the front of my Firefox far too much to use Opera full time on the desktop. If i could make Opera do all those things, i'd switch exclusively to it in a heart beat.
