I have old sites (2+ years old) and new websites (1 year old).
What is the good SEO strategy to get indexed on these sites?
What I learned from this forum is to write articles and submit them to social bookmarking sites.
How often do I need to submit them to social bookmarking sites for new sites/old sites?

Yes that's true create some article to help you in get indexed but your article should also be submitted in different article sites with a high PR so that it can easily indexed by search engines and then after that you can also share it with your different social networking sites.
