The Google Suggest feature has recently been activated for all users, and what this does is add suggestions in the Google search box as you type.

Here is what i'm talking about, i typed boo and a number of different terms are suggested such as books, boots and so on:

I find this suggest "feature" highly annoying because it interrupts my previous queries that FireFox has remembered. As a SEO, i do specialized queries such as "searches in quotes" to find duplicated text and many other which Google Suggest breaks making me type everything instead.

So to disable Google Suggest, what you need to do is either bookmark this URL or even add this URL as your Home Page if you want it gone permanently.

http://www.google.com/webhp?complete=0&hl=en

Now as you can see, the Suggest feature is gone and i have got access to all my previous queries just by typing a few letters.

Up until now, I have been using this:
http://www.google.com/webhp?complete=0/ncr

which both disables Google Suggest AND enables a non-country specific entry page (i.e. google.com rather than google.co.uk or google.hk or the local country page for wherever I happen to be), AT THE SAME TIME.

But this has recently stopped working. Do you know a URL that will still do both of these things at the same time?

I have no idea to turn off the google suggest. I think it's already default to google. And also I think it's really helpful to users.

This is the main URL to disable Google Suggest: http://www.google.com/webhp?complete=0

From that you can use different parameters after the 0 such as &hl=en

If you want to "be" in a specific place try using &gl= for instance &gl=US
